About this whiskey
Ardbeg Ten Years Old is the distillery's flagship, launched in 2000: heavily peated, matured in ex-bourbon casks and bottled at 46% without chill filtration.
Smoky fruit and zesty lemon and lime lead the nose, chased by menthol and tarry rope. An explosion of crackling peat follows, with brine, buttermilk and ripe banana, and the long smoky finish brings dry espresso and chewy peat oils.

from the producer
Ardbeg was founded in 1815 on the south coast of Islay. It came close to disappearing in the 1980s and 1990s before being revived in 1997, and it is now owned by The Glenmorangie Company.
Ardbeg is famous for intensely peaty whisky that still keeps a surprising sweetness and fruit.
