About this whiskey
Blanton's Original was the first bourbon ever bottled one barrel at a time. Master distiller Elmer T. Lee created it in 1984 as a tribute to Colonel Albert B. Blanton, who would pick barrels from the center of Warehouse H and bottle them for dignitaries and guests.
Those barrels still age in Warehouse H, the only metal-clad warehouse at Buffalo Trace, where the thin walls let Kentucky's temperature swings work on the spirit. The nose is deep with nutmeg and spice; the palate brings powerful dry vanilla with honey, caramel and corn, and the medium finish returns to corn and nutmeg. Enjoy it neat or on the rocks.

Blanton's honors Colonel Albert B. Blanton, who used to set aside barrels from the center of Warehouse H for ambassadors, dignitaries and friends. In 1984, master distiller Elmer T. Lee bottled that idea as the world's first single barrel bourbon.
