About this whiskey
Bulleit '87 brings the brand's two specialties into one bottle. The name honors 1987, the year Bulleit was founded; it is not an age statement. The bourbon is distilled and aged in Shelbyville, Kentucky, and the rye in Indiana. Each is aged for at least four years, then finished separately for four to six weeks with toasted American and French oak staves added to the original barrels before the two are blended and bottled in Shelbyville.
Caramel and brown sugar lead on the nose, opening into warm baking spice and firm oak. The finish is layered and gentle, with a sweet-and-spicy warmth. Bulleit built it for sipping, neat or over ice.

Tom Bulleit founded the Bulleit Distilling Co. in 1987 to bring back his family's high-rye bourbon recipe, which dates back more than 150 years. Its bold, spicy style quickly made it a bartender favorite.
Bulleit Rye joined the range in 2011. In 2017 the brand opened its own distillery in Shelbyville, Kentucky, now a stop on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
