About this whiskey
E.H. Taylor, Jr. Barrel Proof is bottled straight from hand-selected barrels, uncut and unfiltered at over 125 proof, and aged in warehouses built more than a century ago under Colonel Taylor's eye. Proof varies from batch to batch.
The aroma of cooked berries meets rich caramel and a slightly floral note. The taste is bold and spicy, with toasty vanilla, dried oak and pepper, and the finish is long, with a powerful rye character and lingering fruit. Add water to taste.

from the producer
Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr. was a 19th-century Kentucky distiller and politician often called the father of the modern bourbon industry. He fought for the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, which guaranteed whiskey quality, and he once owned the distillery now known as Buffalo Trace.
The E.H. Taylor, Jr. collection is made at Buffalo Trace in Frankfort, Kentucky, in his honor; most bottlings are Bottled-in-Bond at 100 proof.
