About this whiskey
E.H. Taylor, Jr. Straight Rye is a small-batch, Bottled-in-Bond rye from Buffalo Trace, made from a mash of only rye and malted barley, with no corn, for a distinctly spicy and robust profile.
The aroma is full of dried fruit, black pepper and a touch of fresh dill. The palate is both sweet and savory, balancing dark spices with subtle caramel, and the finish has an oaky dryness that lingers.

from the producer
Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr. was a 19th-century Kentucky distiller and politician often called the father of the modern bourbon industry. He fought for the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, which guaranteed whiskey quality, and he once owned the distillery now known as Buffalo Trace.
The E.H. Taylor, Jr. collection is made at Buffalo Trace in Frankfort, Kentucky, in his honor; most bottlings are Bottled-in-Bond at 100 proof.
