About this vodka
Grey Goose is a French vodka built around ingredients rather than a long list of distillations. The wheat is a single-origin soft winter wheat from Picardie, of the top grade French bakers use, and the water comes from the brand's own limestone-filtered well beneath its Cognac blending site.
The spirit is distilled just once so the wheat keeps its character, then cut with that spring water and bottled in Cognac. Expect a soft, rounded texture that suits a classic Martini as well as a simple vodka soda.
Highlights
- Made from just two ingredients: winter wheat and spring water
- Soft winter wheat from Picardie, the 'breadbasket of France'
- Limestone-filtered spring water from Gensac-la-Pallue in the Cognac region
- Distilled only once, to keep the character of the wheat
- Distilled in Picardie and bottled in Cognac

from the producer
Grey Goose grew out of Sidney Frank's hunch that bartenders wanted a better vodka. He partnered with François Thibault, a Cognac native trained in oenology at Bordeaux, who became the brand's Maître de Chai.
Thibault insisted on controlling both ingredients: wheat grown by the same Picardie farming co-operatives since production began, and spring water from the company's own well in Gensac-la-Pallue. The vodka is made from scratch, never by redistilling bought-in spirit, and bottled in Cognac.
