About this whiskey
Jameson Black Barrel blends small-batch grain whiskey with single pot still Irish whiskey, all triple-distilled, and matures it in bourbon barrels that have been charred twice. The extra char brings out more sweetness, spice and toasted oak.
The nose is butterscotch, fudge and creamy toffee. The palate is nutty, with sweet spice and vanilla, and the finish is long and rich with toasted wood and vanilla.

from the producer
John Jameson founded his distillery on Bow Street in Dublin in 1780. The Bow Street site now hosts tours and tastings, but every drop of Jameson is made at Midleton Distillery in County Cork, using water from the Dungourney River, which runs through the distillery.
The range starts with Jameson Original and runs to cask-finished and older bottlings such as Triple Triple, which is matured in three types of cask.
- Triple-distilled Irish whiskey
- Blend of small-batch grain and single pot still whiskey
- Matured in double-charred bourbon barrels
