Knob Creek was introduced in 1992 by Booker Noe, Jim Beam's grandson and master distiller, as part of the Small Batch Bourbon Collection. It was created to taste like the full-flavored, higher-proof whiskey of the pre-Prohibition era.

Knob Creek is made at the James B. Beam Distilling Co. in Clermont, Kentucky, and bottled at 100 proof or higher.
