About this whiskey

Lagavulin 16 is one of the most celebrated peated malts in the world. Long, slow distillation and sixteen years in oak give an intense, smoky single malt with real depth.

The nose is intense peat smoke with iodine, seaweed and a rich, deep sweetness. The palate is dry peat smoke with sea salt and wood, and the finish is long and elegant, full of peat, salt and seaweed.

Lagavulin has been distilling on the south coast of Islay since 1816, beside the ruins of Dunyvaig Castle. Its slow distillation in pear-shaped stills and long aging give a rich, smoky, intensely peated single malt.
