from the producer
Michter's traces its roots to a Pennsylvania distillery founded in 1753, making it one of the oldest whiskey names in America. The modern company revived the brand in the 1990s and today distills in Shively, Louisville, Kentucky, with a second distillery at Springfield Farm in Springfield, Kentucky.
Michter's is known for its painstaking approach: barrels are heat-cycled, whiskey goes into the barrel at a lower entry proof than is typical, and every batch must clear a tasting panel before release.
