About this whiskey

One of Royal Salute's oldest releases, this Time Series blend was matured for over half a century. After decades of ageing, it spent its final 14 years in a single cask, adding a soft, creamy texture. Only 106 bottles were drawn from the cask, in hand-blown crystal decanters with five wooden rings echoing its five decades. Notes run from ripe plum, toffee apple and chocolate hazelnut to marmalade, ginger, clove, poached pear and liquorice.

Royal Salute was created as a coronation gift for Elizabeth II in 1953 and has only ever blended whiskies aged at least 21 years, hence its motto 'We Begin Where Others End'. Made by Chivas Brothers, it has been part of Pernod Ricard since 2001.
