About this whiskey
The Sweet Toast of American Oak was the first release in The Balvenie Stories. After maturing in American oak, the whisky is finished in virgin American oak casks given an extra toast in Kentucky, adding sweet vanilla and spice.
It is softer and more malt-forward than DoubleWood: sweet barley, honey and vanilla with citrus, cinnamon and ginger, then toffee and butterscotch on a malty finish.

from the producer
The Balvenie distillery was built by William Grant in 1892 beside Glenfiddich in Dufftown, Speyside, and is still owned by his family's company, William Grant & Sons.
It is known for keeping traditional crafts in house: a working floor maltings, a cooperage, a coppersmith tending the stills, and barley grown on the distillery's own farm. That hands-on approach, and decades of cask-finishing experiments led by Malt Master David Stewart, define its honeyed style.
