About this wine
Perbacco is Vietti’s Langhe Nebbiolo, often called a “baby Barolo”: it is built from Nebbiolo grown in selected vineyards mostly in the Barolo and Barbaresco zones. Each parcel is fermented for three to four weeks and aged separately, and only then does the team decide which lots stay for Barolo and which become Perbacco. The wine spends about 18 to 20 months in barriques and large barrels before blending in steel. The 2022 is fruity, with raspberry, mint and spice, and round, elegant tannins leading to a long, refined finish.

Vietti was founded in the late 1800s by Carlo Vietti at the top of the medieval village of Castiglione Falletto, in the heart of the Langhe. Alfredo Currado made it a pioneer, with one of the first single-cru Barolos in 1961 and the first pure Roero Arneis in 1967. The Krause family has owned the winery since 2016.
