About this whiskey

The Boss Hog is WhistlePig's single-barrel, barrel-strength rye series. Edition VII, Magellan's Atlantic (2020), spent 17 years in American oak before finishes with new Spanish staves and then South American teakwood, bottled at 105.1–107.8 proof: cinnamon sugar, allspice and maple, then brandied cherries, cloves and dark chocolate. Edition VIII, LapuLapu's Pacific (2021), was double-finished in Philippine rum casks and bottled at 104.8–106.6 proof: vanilla, underripe banana and lemon, then cinnamon, butterscotch and toffee, with leather, brown sugar and black-pepper rye spice.

WhistlePig is a rye whiskey producer based on a farm in Shoreham, Vermont, founded in 2007. It became famous for its 10 Year Rye, released in 2010, which helped spark America's rye revival.

WhistlePig now grows rye on the farm, distills on site and finishes whiskeys in a wide range of casks, including barrels made from Vermont oak.
