About this whiskey
Created for the centenary of Suntory Whisky and announced in May 2023, this limited Yamazaki is made from malt whiskies all aged at least 18 years solely in Mizunara (Japanese oak) casks, bottled at 48%. Suntory describes rich, elegant top notes of dark cherry and ripe peach with cinnamon and nutmeg, a subtly spiced orangette palate with undernotes of Japanese incense, and a long, lingering finish of clove, sandalwood and dried coconut.

Yamazaki is Japan's first malt whisky distillery, founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii, the founder of Suntory, in the valley where the Katsura, Uji and Kizu rivers meet near Kyoto. The site was chosen for its soft water and misty, humid climate.
Yamazaki uses stills of many shapes and sizes and a wide range of casks, including Japanese Mizunara oak, to create a complex, layered single malt.
- Japanese single malt aged at least 18 years
