About this vodka
Absolut Citron arrived in 1988, and its name is simply the Swedish word for lemon. It is made with natural flavor and tastes of freshly squeezed, sun-ripened lemon with a little citrus sweetness.
The texture is creamy and the finish smooth. Citron is best known as the vodka in the Cosmopolitan, but it is just as good topped with soda and lime, mixed with lemonade, or in a Gimlet.

from the producer
Absolut is produced and bottled in a single place: Åhus, a small village in southern Sweden. Its roots go back to 1879, when Lars Olsson Smith introduced a purer 'Absolut Rent Brännvin' using rectification, a method still at the heart of the process.
The modern brand launched in New York in 1979 with its apothecary-inspired bottle and quickly stood out on the shelf.
