About this vodka

Absolut Vodka is made in a single place, the village of Åhus in southern Sweden, from local winter wheat and water drawn from wells more than 100 meters deep. It is continuously distilled, which removes impurities while keeping a gentle grain character.

For a vodka it has real body: rich and full, yet smooth and mellow, with grain notes and a hint of dried fruit. Absolut's sensory team also picks up light caramel and vanilla, and a fresh, fruity finish. It mixes into anything from an Espresso Martini to a simple lemonade highball.

Absolut is produced and bottled in a single place: Åhus, a small village in southern Sweden. Its roots go back to 1879, when Lars Olsson Smith introduced a purer 'Absolut Rent Brännvin' using rectification, a method still at the heart of the process.

The modern brand launched in New York in 1979 with its apothecary-inspired bottle and quickly stood out on the shelf.
